Good morning and welcome back to 100 Days of Blogging. Today’s question comes to us from the Self-Reflection category and the card asks, “What’s something you’ve let go that once meant the world to you?”
This topic always seems to come with the biggest bat in terms of smacking you in the face with your deepest insecurities. Anyway, I’d have to say that something I’ve let go that once meant the world to me is my two former Christian traditions.
I was initially raised Seventh-Day Adventist, and then eventually Evangelical. I’ve had my reasons for leaving both of those traditions, but before I left them they were often the most important part of my life at the time. However, I did have to let them go.
The theology of these traditions was not healthy, in my opinion, and as such they were things that I needed to let go of. But again, at the time they were the most important thing for me.
So there we go, some things I’ve had to let go of that used to mean the world to me.
