Hello, and welcome back to 100 Days of Blogging. Today’s question comes to us from the World category, and the card states, “The most unfair thing about socialism is…”
Well, should’ve seen this one coming, I was asked a few days ago about Capitalism, so it seems only fair that I would be asked about Socialism. The issue is, that Socialism is supposed to be about making a more fair society so it’s hard to say what the most “unfair thing” is. However, I will take a crack at it because if you can’t critique your own argument, you probably don’t understand it right.
And honestly the most unfair thing about Socialism is that honestly, at least for the largest online portions and literary portions of it, is that it tends to be a bunch of white dudes sitting around eating bon-bons theorizing. There tends to be a tendency among Socialist circles to be more concerned with theorizing the most perfect version of Socialism without actually attempting to bring it about, or listening to those most affected by Capitalism’s oppressive struggles and working to alleviate those concerns.
Which is one of the biggest issues when it comes to advancing Socialist causes, because people aren’t going to care about what your theory is, if they can’t get any concrete ideas out of you. And those issues come about because people in high up positions of power in various Socialist organizations tend to be the same types of people that are in charge of the oppressive structures within Capitalism.
And that is what the most unfair thing about socialism is.
